A Year of Possibilities: PEEK in 2026

The year 2026 marks more than the beginning of a new chapter; it celebrates 26 years of PEEK as an organisation rooted in community, creativity, and possibilities.

As January comes to an end, we’re planning for the year ahead. Our team has been busy preparing for the year ahead, planning sessions, events and working hard to secure funding for our programmes.

Our CEO, Michaela Collins, said: “January has been a month of planning, preparing and exploring all things partnerships for PEEK.

This year, we will be developing a new 5-year strategy, launching the development phase of ‘PEEK into Whitevale’ with Glasgow Building Preservation Trust and delivering our high-quality programmes that improve the life chances for children, young people and families.

Funding is becoming even more competitive than ever, so we will be further diversifying our income streams and making every penny and pound stretch as far as possible. We are always open to conversations (with a cuppa), so please get in touch if you want to support our vision and mission.

We are in the midst of a lovely office refurb with funding from Nationwide and BAM Construction. We're so looking forward to having a welcoming space for our children, young people and families in early Spring.

As always, we welcome any new Friends of PEEK, and our doors and inboxes are open!”

Investing in Our People

In 2026, our focus remains firmly on investing in our people and our future. From February, our office will undergo a refurbishment designed to better support collaboration and well-being for our team. This will include new quiet meeting areas, a refreshed kitchen, and a breakout space to deliver sessions with our communities and host conversations. We look forward to welcoming partners and friends to experience these changes firsthand.

Investing in Our Future: PEEK into Whitevale

One of our most exciting developments continues to be PEEK into Whitevale, supported by Glasgow Building Preservation Trust and a £292,308 investment from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This initiative represents a bold vision for PEEK, located in the very community where we began, the Gallowgate.

This project is about far more than restoring a historic building. It is about revitalising community spirit, creating a welcoming hub, and working alongside residents, artists, and partners to create learning, well-being, and opportunity.

Delivering High-quality Programmes

We remain deeply committed to delivering high-quality programmes that are child-, young person-, and family-led. A recent collaboration with Save the Children showcases this approach as families played a central role in shaping a new perinatal pathway, ensuring it reflects real experiences and real needs.

Thanks to Save the Children, we have secured £5,000 to deliver this six-month programme, launching in March. Importantly, it has been designed by the mothers who participated. It reflects our belief that meaningful change happens when people are trusted as experts in their own lives.

Demonstrating our Impact

As we move through 2026, we will continue to showcase the impact of our work, inviting funders, supporters, and friends of PEEK to be part of our journey and to help us secure further investment for our programmes, making a lasting difference for children, young people, and families.

Looking Forward

2026 also brings exciting opportunities beyond our organisation. As Glasgow prepares to host the Commonwealth Games, we will encourage children, young people, and families to engage, celebrate, and experience the richness of cultures that define our city.

As we step into another year of growth and impact, we remain committed to empowering families and strengthening communities. We are grateful for the continued support of our partners, volunteers, and participants, and we look forward to embarking on this next chapter together.

Here’s to a successful 2026, filled with new opportunities, achievements as we continue to work with children, young people and families to improve life chances.
