PEEK Turns 25! A Milestone Celebration of Our Journey.

We are proud to celebrate 25 years as an organisation dedicated to improving the life chances of children, young people, and their families in Glasgow.

Established in 2000, PEEK was created in response to concerns from local parents about the lack of opportunities and play spaces for children. Initially known as the 'Gallowgate and Calton Children’s Project,' we were funded by the Church of Scotland. Over the years, we have grown and evolved, expanding our reach and impact.

In 2009, we broadened our services to new areas and included individuals aged 5 to 25 years, rebranding as 'Possibilities for East End Kids.' By 2013, our name evolved once more to 'Possibilities for Each and Every Kid,' reflecting our expanding reach and belief in the potential of every child.

For over 25 years, PEEK has been a trusted and respected presence in Glasgow’s communities. Our iconic red hoodie has become a symbol of connection and empowerment, as we strive to create a culture of care, creativity, and collaboration. #TEAMPEEK comprises individuals from all walks of life who are dedicated to making a real difference.

Our CEO, Michaela Collins, said, “As we celebrate 25 years of changing the lives of children, young people and families across Glasgow, I cannot help but reflect on my own journey with PEEK.

I have grown up with PEEK from being a wee 9-year-old girl attending theatre group and play sessions to volunteering and now leading the organisation as CEO and having my own family.

I am extremely proud of PEEK and everything we have achieved over the last 25 years.

With our origins growing from Gallowgate and Calton communities to now being city-wide. To supporting children from birth and their families with our programmes. To launching a community food truck during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you to all of our staff, volunteers and board members, both past and present, for helping to create this fabulous, life-changing organisation.

And to all our children, young people and families, THANK YOU for trusting us, for giving us your time and energy and for coming along on this journey with us.

Here’s to the next 25 years. The possibilities really are endless”.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to our founding principle: local children, young people, and families must be at the heart of everything we do. We hope you will join us as we continue to build possibilities for each and every kid.
